Matteo Pugliese is a PhD candidate at the University of Barcelona in the Law and Political Science doctoral program, studying the role of prison intelligence in the prevention of terrorism and organized crime in Europe. His research interests include counter terrorism policy, jihadism, radicalization dynamics, prisons, intelligence, far-right extremism, NATO, hybrid threats and law enforcement.
Chiara Proietti Silvestri is analyst at the Bologna-based energy consultancy Rie-Ricerche Industriali ed Energetiche, focusing on the economic and political dynamics of the main global energy issues. At ISPI, Chiara is author of the “Energy Security Focus” for the Foreign Policy Observatory of the Parliament and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She currently works on the energy developments in the Mediterranean area, with particular attention to the EastMed gas discoveries.
Maddalena Procopio is Associate Research Fellow at ISPI for the Africa Programme. She holds a PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics. She is currently political analyst for sub-Saharan Africa at Eni.
